Along with the cover, we're excited to announce that the pre-order link for Kathya Alexander's Keep A'Livin' is now live! You can pre-order is now from SPD

Alexander’s debut historical fiction novel-in-verse follows the fiercely passionate, dedicated, and cheeky Mandy as she comes of age during the height of the Civil Rights Movement of the 20th century. Twelve-year-old Mandy and her mother, Belle, experience the extraordinary events of the 1960s, finding strength, fearlessness, and faith along the way.

  • Monday, 7 April: 4:00-6:00 pm Potomac Community Center, Meeting Room. 11315 Falls Rd, Potomac, MD 20854, organized by Tea for Soul Society, a book lovers’ club,半杯茶 Event will most likely be in Mandarin.

  • Tuesday, April 9; afternoon: George Mason University, Fairfax VA. (Time and location TBD.)

  • Friday, April 12: Event at University of California at Berkeley, 3:30 to 6:00 pm(exact location TBA).
