Since 1989, Aunt Lute’s internship program has offered more than one hundred women the opportunity to learn more about book publishing in a nonprofit context while connecting to women’s, LGBTQ, and multicultural issues and communities. Interns are an integral part of our diverse collective of women. Luters—our affectionate moniker for members of our community—support the Operations, Editing, and Marketing departments. Many interns apply the skills they develop at Aunt Lute to their future careers as writers, educators, artists, and leaders.

We look for interns who have an interest in multicultural women’s literature, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and are flexible, motivated, and able to work independently.
