October 24: Flor de Nopal Literary Festival (co-coordinated by ire’ne) celebrates Huizache Magazine‘s release of their 4th issue at the ESB-Mexican American Cultural Center at 600 River St. Austin, TX.
October 25-26: Ire’ne will be a featured author at the Texas Book Festival, an annual literary festival held in and around the State Capitol, Oct. 25 and 26 in Austin. ire’ne will read alongside authors Josh Weil and Tim Tingle on Saturday Oct. 25th, in a session called “Fantasy, Folklore, and Backwoods Mysticism“.
Founded by First Lady Laura Bush and Mary Margaret Farabee to honor Texas authors, the Texas Book Festival promotes the joys of reading and serves to benefit the state’s public libraries. The Texas Book Festival hosts more than 250 authors each year and more than 40,000 book lovers of all ages attend the Festival annually.
